Police Report, 28th October 1877
Gambling has not yet ceased
in Jane Chinese Gambling but some of the tables have been closed since the
matter was reported to the Canton Authorities. Mention of deported
criminals frequent this neighborhood; on the 8th instant fifteen
men who had been branded, and banished from this Colony
were seen in the thick of Chinese Gambling and Sham Shui Po.
